Kurt Berger graduated cum laude from Humboldt State University in California, USA, in 1994. He played double bass and bass guitar in various orchestras, big bands, and combos. He continued his double bass studies in the Netherlands with Rudolf Senn and Hans Krul.

In 1998, he graduated from the Royal Conservatory in The Hague with Peter Luit as a Teaching Musician and in 1999 with a Master of Music degree. He plays and substitutes in various ensembles and orchestras, including the Residentie Orchestra and the Noord Nederland Orchestra.

He is also a double bass luthier and teaches double bass at BplusC in Leiden and double bass and bass guitar at the Music Academy of The Hague.Teaching methods: individual lesson, duo-lessons
