The number of registrations for the Berlage Strings Spring Project stalled at 6: 4 cellos and 2 violins. Too few to rehearse orchestral pieces together. However, we have devised an alternative that allows us to continue making music together in a relatively small ensemble. The focus of this project will be on counting, ensemble playing, listening to one another, and, of course, having a good time. Depending on how things go, Paulus will adjust some parts to be played by cellos at the performance, but the important thing about orchestral playing is to function as a group.
Under the enthusiastic and skilled direction of violinist/conductor Paulus van Kruijssen, the musicians acquire new skills and experience the fun of playing in an ensemble. The course works toward a final performance during the Summer Concert on Sunday, June 28.
